Through experience comes skill and knowledge

This powerful combination is an excellent tool for an entertainer. A disc jockey’s experience is quite important and says a lot about how he or she handles your special event. Drew Miller has performed at over 2000 special events and has more than 25 years experience as a professional disc jockey, but his interest in music goes much further back.

Drew’s passion for music began at the age of five when he received his first record player. He began building what would become an incredible record collection. In 1981, through a college course, Drew began an internship at the original KPRI radio station where he helped produce an on air show for about a year. This sparked a deep interest in becoming a DJ. Next, Drew attended and graduated from the Orange County Broadcast Workshop in Anaheim, California.

After graduating, Drew began a 12-year career as a nightclub disc jockey. Drew has spun at many of San Diego’s hottest night spots such as Carlos Murphy’s, Club Diego’s, and a 6 1/2 year run at Moose McGillycuddy’s in Pacific Beach. Drew quickly learned how to “read a crowd” and keep a dance floor packed!

attention to detail and customer service

In 1989, Drew started Unity Sounds Mobile Music and has come to specialize in weddings and corporate events. He holds attention to detail and customer service in the highest regard and offers his clients top quality disc jockey entertainment. In 1994 Drew left the night clubs to focus on and give 100% of his attention to Unity Sounds.

In the year 2000 Drew became involved with local public radio at KSDS Jazz 88.3 fm where, Wednesday evenings from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m., he hosts a live Jazz show "spinning" the full spectrum of Jazz. In addition, Drew produces and hosts a show he created called “The Second Line Parade” which airs Saturday nights at 7:00 p.m. The show features the vast musical styles of New Orleans and Louisiana - Jazz, Blues, Brass Band, Mardi Gras Indian, New Orleans R&B, Funk, Cajun & Zydeco. A musical gumbo for your ears!
